Of tapered rectangular form. Well-hollowed and of a translucent honey brown tone. Jadeite stopper. Qing dynasty, 18th century.H. 5.5 cm Snuff Bottle Collection of John Mckeggie Rogers (1905-1977) He was a senior partner of the Torontobrokerage firm Doherty Roadhouse. He was a great collector of antiquities. He started collecting snuff bottles in the 1940's alongside his friend Ken Thompson whose collection now resides in the AGO.
