Bound in slate blue paper over card wraps, side stitched binding. Edited by Murayama Kineki. A collection of works attributed to the Chujo-Ryu school of obstetrics and women's health, founded by Chujo Tatewaki , and Japan?s first identified abortionist, active during the Azuchi-Momoyama period (1568?1600). (Wardle, 1993). By the late 17th century, there were several published works in this field, including on abortion. A scarce text. Provenance: Private collection, Japan. 品相: A fragile volume, the covers worn, with loss to the paper. Evidence of a lost title label. Internally, some extensive worm damage, with accompanying loss to text.
