In six stab bound volumes, blue card covers. A Shahon, or hand copied manuscript of an original text. The artist signs himself as Kajima Keihaku (Kajima respectfully.) Dated Tenpo 3, (1832), Year of the Dragon, kichijitsu, "on an auspicious day," often used in historical Japanese hand written documents to indicate a favourable day for the writing. Location: the ancient province of "Yamato-no-kuni", nowadays Nara Prefecture. 22x16cm. Provenance: Private collection, Japan. 品相： Worm damage to covers, especially to the final volume with many small pin holes and more extensive worm holes to covers penetrating to endpapers. Further worm holes throughout the text block with occasional loss of text. Volumes one to five have less severe worm damage, with pin holes and minor worm trails throughout the text blocks and some noticeable worm damage to some covers. Stitching still firm.
