Compiled by Taki Motonori , or Taki Gentoku (1731-1801). In two volumes, possibly lacking one volume. Publisher: Seijukan (Private Medical School of the Taki family). 1789. Motonori was a court physician to the Tokugawa Shogunate. This manual was designed for people living away from major urban areas and was written in an accessible style. With plentiful in text ink illustrations. Sotheby's sold the same edition in 2022, although their set was in three volumes, so this copy possibly incomplete. 25.75 x 18.5cm Provenance: Private collection, Japan. 品相： Title label to one volume missing and with severe damage to covers of same, including a hole to rear cover that penetrates through seven folded leaves, with worming and some loss of text, and with bad staining and general wear and rubs. The companion volume is in better condition, with some minor traces of worm holes, covers lightly worn.
