A Syrian Damascus tin glazed earthenware tile, 18th century, painted in underglaze blue, manganese and turquoise with a central eight-pointed floral star within foliate framing against a white ground, 21cm x 23cm (faults). Provenance: from the personal collection of the ceramic artist, the late Eric James Mellon (1925-2014).
