Richly illustrated throughout with detailed technical drawings integrated into the text. Containing Category I of al-Jazari's treatise on mechanical devices, devoted to water clocks and candle clocks, including a castle-shaped water clock with zodiac divisions, automated doors and animated figures MIDDEN-OOSTEN - 18°/19° EEUW manuscript op papier bestaande uit 33 folio's gebonden in bruin leder, met 12 regels tekst per pagina in zwart schrift binnen fijn getrokken dieprode omlijstingen. Rijkelijk geïllustreerd met technische tekeningen geïntegreerd in de tekst. Behandelt de eerste categorie van al-Jazari's verhandeling over mechanische toestellen, gewijd aan water- en kaarsklokken, waaronder een kasteelvormige waterklok met dierenriemverdeling, geautomatiseerde deuren en bewegende figuren - 18 x 26 cm
