Two Japanese Ceramic Bowls and a Pouring Vessel, 19th Century and Earlier The first bowl flared, of buff paste with cream and beige crackled glaze, four large spur marks to the interior, kintsugi repairs to lip; the second of rounded shape with indented lip, of rough, buff body with a finely crackled dark ivory glaze, further thick white glaze at the lip, gold-lacquered flakes to lip, the foot ring with wedge-shaped cutout; the cylindrical pourer with inturned lip, the buff body with pale crackled glaze, painted on one side with iron brown melon(?), five small spur marks to the interior. Diameter of largest 7 1/2 in., 19 cm. Property from a private collection, Rockville, Maryland. This lot is located in Philadelphia. Provenance: Col. Martin L.
