An Impressive and Very Large Japanese Patinated Bronze Koro, Meiji Period The cover features an eagle perched on rockwork, while the impressive body is flanked by a pair of dragons and decorated with cartouches of a high relief Samurai scene, the opposite depicting peonies and birds, underside incised Miyao Zo (宮尾造); the base is decorated with twelve roundels of zodiac animals, all raised on six dragon-form supports, with surfaces feature cloud scrolls, stylized lotus, and dragon motifs, and the piece is accompanied by a dragon-form wooden stand Height of koro (without stand) 42 x diameter 20 1/2 in., 106.68 x 52 cm. This lot is located in Philadelphia. 品相： Overall height including the stand 55 in. Overall very good and stable condition. The bronze exhibits minor traces of verdigris, slight surface soiling, and minor wear to the extremities consistent with age. One dragon head is currently loose.
