A Japanese Lacquered and Painted Wood Figure of Jizo Bosatsu, Edo Period or Earlier 日本江戶或更早 木雕羅漢像 The youthful figure with shaved head, a gentle smile on his face, glass-inset eyes, clad in flowing robes bearing traces of roundel decoration, a tama jewel on a lotus blossom on his raised hand, a monk's staff in the other, all raised on a lotus base. Height 26 in., 66 cm. This lot is located in Philadelphia. Provenance: A New York City collection.
