A Chinese Hardwood Clothing Stand, Yijia, Qing Dynasty 清 硬木衣架 The circular uprights supporting a crest rail with lion-head finials, over a stretcher carved with peonies, lotus and millet; scrolled bracket spandrel supports, on block base with scrolled feet, open base stretcher Height 71 1/4 x Width 50 1/4 x Depth 19 1/4 in., 181 x 127.5 x 49 cm. This lot is located in Philadelphia. Provenance: The Estate of Captain Richard Taliaferro Wright, USN, USNA (1932-2022) Acquired from the above by the present owners Captain Wright was born in Hangkou, China, to Elijah Benjamin Wright (1899-1982), a banker with Citizen's Bank in China, located in Hubei in the 1920s-30s.
