A Chinese Neolithic Painted Pottery Jar, Gansu Province, Majiayao Culture, Banshan Phase, 3rd Millennium B.C.E. 馬家窯文化半坡類型 彩陶雙耳罐 The globular jar with tall flared lip, two loop handles at the shoulder, tapering to a narrow base; painted in black-purple and burgundy with a series of arcing forms, net diaper to exterior of lip. Diameter 13 in., 33 cm. This lot is located in Philadelphia.
