A Pair of Chinese Blue and White 'Chang Hen Ge' (Song of Everlasting Sorrow) Covered Jars, 20th Century 近代 青花白居易《長恨歌》蓋罐一對 Both fully decorated with Bai Juyi's poem "Chang Hen Ge" to the exterior, recounting the famous tragic tale of the doomed love between the Tang Emperor Xuanzong and his concubine Yang Guifei; the underside bears "Fu Man Tang Ji" Mark. Height 17 3/4 in., 45.1 cm. Property from a Private New England Collection This lot is located in Philadelphia. Provenance: The previous owner acquired it in Hong Kong circa 1950s-1960s.
