Jewellery cabinet with fine marquetry decoration Japan, Meiji period H. 34,3 cm, B. 29,6 cm, T. 14 cm The cabinet has two shelves and nine drawers. The headboard has an additional compartment with bars to separate individual compartments. The surface is elaborately decorated with marquetry, and the doors are adorned with partially relief paintings of birds and trees in a golden colour. The filigree fittings are just as finely crafted in shape and surface; the individual compartments and pulls are lacquered on the inside. Im Kopfteil findet sich ein zusätzliches Fach mit Stegen zur Abtrennung einzelner Fächer. Die Oberfläche ist in aufwendigem Marketerie Dekor gearbeitet, auf den Türen prangen teil-reliefierte Malereien von Vögeln und Bäumen in goldener Farbe.
