A PAINTING OF A 'jōtōmyō' BY TOYOKUNI Japan, 19th c. 139 x 48 cm (160,5 x 76,5 cm R.) Ink and colours on paper, mounted as hanging scroll, framed under glass. The lantern labelled: jōtōmyō (continuously burning light (e.g. at a Buddhist altar)). Signed on the base. Toyokuni ga (painted by Toyokuni) Inscription on the right: a pair of copper/bronze lanterns is dedicated to Naritasan-fudoson Temple. Inscription on the left about the dimensions of the lantern. From a Franconian private collection, collected between 1960 and 1990 - Traces of age, wear, very mimor damages and rest. Malerei von Toyokuni 'jōtōmyō' Japan, 19. Die Laterne beschriftet: jōtōmyō (continuously burning light (e.g. at a Buddhist altar)). Auf dem Sockel sign. Toyokuni ga (gemalt von Toyokuni) Aufschrift rechts: ein Paar Kupfer/Bronze-Laterne wird der Naritasan-fudoson Tempel eingeweiht. Aufschrift links über die Maße der Laterne. Aus einer fränkischen Privatsammlung, gesammelt zwischen 1960 und 1990 - Kleinere Alterssch´., etwas berieben und rest.
