Two heads of the Buddha Shakyamuni China H. 11 - 15 cm Both depictions show the Buddha Shakyamuni with the characteristic serene facial expression and lowered eyelids under the arched eyebrows. In the depiction carved from alabaster, the spiral-shaped elevations on and around the ushnisha are fully sculpted, while the version in limestone is designed in the manner of a semi-relief, as with the facial features. Former European private collection - Minimal wear, partly mounted on plinth Zwei Köpfe des Buddha Shakyamuni China H. 11 - 15 cm Beide Darstellungen zeigen den Buddha Shakyamuni mit dem charakteristischen heiteren Gesichtsausdruck und unter den bogenförmigen Augenbrauen gesenkten Lidern. Bei der aus Alabaster gehauenen Darstellung sind die schneckenförmigen Erhebungen auf und um die Ushnisha vollplastisch ausgearbeitet, während die Version in Kalkstein hier, wie auch bei den Gesichtszügen, nach Art eines Halbreliefs ausgestaltet ist.
