A soapstone carved figure of a seated Luohan China, Qing Dynasty H. 11,5 cm The Luohan is made of soapstone and sits on a separate stone pedestal with his right leg raised. He holds up his right hand with his elbow resting on his knee. Numerous engravings (on the head and robe) stand out clearly from the cream-coloured base tone of the soapstone. These indentations were filled with gold on the border and flowers of the robe. SüdGerman private collection, acquired before 2007 - min. rubbed Speckstein-Figur eines Luohan China, Qing-Dynastie H. 11,5 cm Der Luohan ist aus Speckstein gearbeitet und sitzt mit aufgestelltem rechten Beim auf einem separaten, steinernen Sockel. Die rechte Hand hält er, den Ellenbogen auf dem Knie abgestützt, erhoben. Von dem cremefarbenen Grundton des Specksteins heben sich zahlreiche Gravuren (an Haupt und Gewand) gut sichtbar ab. Diese Vertiefungen wurden an Borte und Blumen des Gewandes mit Gold gefüllt. Süddeutsche Privatsammlung, vor 2007 erworben - min. berieben
