A polychrome painted porcelain Budai with five boys China, three press stamps Zhu Maosheng, Republic period H. 26,4 cm The smiling Budai sits on the ground with his right leg raised. The opulent robe with floral decoration reveals his chest and stomach as well as his left shoulder. With his right hand he clutches his sack. Five boys are climbing on him in joyful play. Two sitting on his shoulders flank his face, the others wander down his arms and to his feet and knees. They thus frame the figure of Budai and emphasise the closed form of the group of figures. Formerly German private collection - Minor wear Sitzender Budai mit fünf Knaben aus polychrom gefasstem Porzellan China, drei Pressstempel Zhu Maosheng, Republik-Periode H. 26,4 cm Der lachende Budai sitzt mit aufgestelltem rechtem Bein auf dem Boden. Das opulente Gewand mit Floraldekor gibt Brust und Bauch sowie die linke Schulter frei. Mit seiner rechten Hand umgreift er seinen Sack. Fünf Knaben klettern im freudigen Spiel auf ihm herum. Zwei auf den Schultern sitzende flankieren sein Gesicht, die übrigen wandern seine Arme und bis zu seinen Füßen und Knien hinab.
