Small porcelain figure of Budai with boy China, 20th century H. 19,7 cm The Budai is depicted sitting on the ground, his right leg raised and his upper body upright. He is loosely clad in a colourful robe, his chest and belly as well as his left shoulder remain bare. With his left hand he clutches his sack made of cloth, his right hand holds the prayer chain. His face radiates the cheerfulness that characterises him. His eyes are open, his smiling mouth is a rich red colour, his cheeks are pink. Five boys are playing on him, framing his figure, one of them with lotus flowers. Formerly German private collection, acquired before 2007 - Min. rubbed, min. chipped at the base Kleine Porzellanfigur des Budai mit Knaben China, 20. Jh. H. 19,7 cm Der Budai ist auf dem Boden sitzend, das rechte Bein aufgestellt und den Oberkörper aufrecht, dargestellt. Er ist locker in ein buntes Gewand gehüllt, Brust und Bauch ebenso wie seine linke Schulter bleiben dabei entblößt. Mit der linken Hand umgreift er seinen Sack aus Tuch, seine rechte hält die Gebetskette. Sein Gesicht strahlt die für ihn charakteristische Heiterkeit aus. Die Augen sind geöffnet, der lächelnd geöffnete Mund ist satt-rot, die Wangen rosa gerötet. Auf ihm spielen, seine Figur umrahmend, fünf Knaben, einer davon mit Lotusblüte.
