A CHINESE GREEN JADE CYLINDER PENDANT MOUNTED ON GOLD WITH A GOLD NECKLACE, REPUBLIC PERIOD The pendant is formed from a slender cylindrical section of green jade, mounted vertically in gold and suspended from a gold necklace. The jade displays a fresh, translucent green tone with natural darker inclusions visible within the stone, its long polished body framed by gold rails and divided by decorative bands. The gold mount is carefully worked to secure the jade while adding ornamental definition. Scalloped collars encircle the cylinder at intervals, with a vertical gold strip to one side bearing stamped marks. The accompanying chain is composed of elongated rectangular links, giving the jewel a refined geometric quality that complements the straight, columnar form of the pendant.
