Léon De Smet (1881–1966): ‘Sight at Vernon-sur-Seine’, oil on board, signed, 20th C. Dim.: 59,5 x 74 cm (the frame) Dim.: 48,5 x 63 cm (the work) Leon De Smet (1881-1966) was an important Belgian Post-Impressionist painter associated with the Latem School. Best known for his landscapes and refined treatment of light and colour, he travelled regularly and painted scenes observed in Belgium and abroad.
