Lars Petter Sjöström (1820–1896): 'Ship portrait of the Dutch bark Auburn', gouache on paper, signed and dated 1884 Dim.: 94,5 x 69,5 cm (the frame) Dim.: ca. 76,5 x 51 (the work) Lars Petter Sjostrom (1820-1896) was a Swedish marine painter best known for his portraits of merchant and sailing vessels.This work depictsthe Dutch bark Auburn of Farmsum under Captain Albert H. Stukje. Built in Sunderland in 1867, the vessel sailed for the Farmsum shipowner Geert Geerts Albers.
