拍品描述

A Chinese famille rose 'Doctor's Visit' plate after Cornelis Pronk, Qianlong Dia.: 22 cm A fine famille rose 'Doctors Visit' plate after a design by Cornelis Pronk, circa 1740, depicting three figures seated around a table beneath flowering branches, with a peacock and other birds, within a border of cartouches enclosing fish and waterfowl. This pattern belongs to a small group of designs commissioned by the Dutch East India Company in the 1730s. Due to the complexity and cost of production, only limited quantities were ordered, making such pieces relatively scarce. The original watercolor design is preserved in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, and illustrates the close collaboration between European designers and Chinese workshops in the development of export porcelain.
