PROPERTY FROM A PRIVATE ENGLISH COLLECTION woodblock print, from the series Eight Pledges at Lovers' Meetings (Omi hakkei), signed Utamaro hitsu (Brush of Utamaro), published by Omiya Gonkuro, circa 1798-99; with collector’s seal Berès to verso Vertical oban: 38.1 x 25.1 cm., 15 by 9⅞ in. Six other prints from the same series are in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, accession numbers 21.6487, 21.6488, 21.6486, 21.6485, 21.6484, and 11.14203.
