PROPERTY FROM A GERMAN PRIVATE COLLECTION the base incised with an apocryphal four-character Qianlong mark, the body incised with two poems by Qian Qi and Li Jiayou wood stand (2) Height 8.3 cm, 3¼ in. Autumn Moon from the Study of Pei Di Tonight, stirred by wine and verse, I watch the moon flood the tower of Lord Xie. Its light seals the heavy gates in silence; autumn chill gathers around the solitary trees. Startled magpies scatter with the falling leaves, distant fireflies drift into the mist. At heaven’s farthest edge this very night, how many sorrows share this lucid moonlight? On An Autumn Night Rain fills the southern palace through the night while the court gentleman keeps his lonely watch. The water-clock drips beside the cinnabar phoenix towers; autumn cold settles over the offices beneath white clouds. Fireflies flicker wildly across the steps, and the cry of wild geese rises late beyond the gardens. The halls grow desolate as clerks and attendants depart; like little Xie, I find myself composing new poems. 釋文： 夜來詩酒興，月滿謝公樓。影閉重門靜，寒生獨樹秋。鵲驚隨葉散，螢遠入煙流。今夕遙天末，清光幾處愁。 多雨南宮夜，仙郎寓直時。漏長丹鳳闕，秋冷白雲司。螢影侵階亂，鴻聲出苑遲。蕭條人吏散，小謝有新詩。
