拍卖简介

Richard Vandekar began trading in antiques in 1972, dealing in Chinese, Japanese, English and European ceramics and works of art. Over time, the business moved across London from Fitzrovia to Grays Antique Market and later to Portobello Road. He followed in the footsteps of his mother, Betty Vandekar who ran an antique shop with her sister Vera. That business, in turn, developed out of the dealership of Betty's father, Avram Vandekar (known as Nol), who emigrated to London from Holland in 1906, later being joined by his brothers Joseph and Emanuel. Dealing in ceramics across the 20th century had its ups and downs and Richard's grandfather recalled returning to the gallery after the bombing during World War Two and finding that the back wall of the building had gone, although miraculously none of the shop's extensive stock of porcelain was damaged. This sale offers 116 lots from the stock of Richard Vandekar Ltd., as well as pieces passed down within the Vandekar family. All Lots in this sale are offered Without Reserve. 本場拍賣中的所有拍品將以無底價出售.
